Magical Glowing Acorns
As most of you will know by now, I have a love of acorns. I feel drawn to their representation of growth and wisdom and throughout my journey over the years of running my own business and finally finding my feet I feel that I have grown and become a little wiser as well, or at least I hope that I have.
As Autumn creeps in upon us and the nights roll in a little earlier each day I felt that we could all do with a little more light in our lives while we also celebrate the darkness. And thus glowing acorns came into being with the help of many wonderful friends and a little bit of magic.
These acorns are made from recycled plastic to reduce the negative impact on the environment. The lights I use are mini ballon lights for the small acorns. These lights can be switched on and off by removing and replacing the little plastic strip in between the batteries. I then used a short string of fairy lights to light up the larger acorns, and these lights have an on/off switch on them. Both types of lights are powered with button batteries which can be replaced if they run out. I can also send out extra ballon lights if needed, I sell these in sets of 3.
Sizes
Small - 3.5cm wide x 5cm high
Large - 7cm wide x 10cm high
Small acorns have a small 26cm paracord loop for acorn to be attached to belts or bags, etc.
Large acorns have a faux leather knotted keyring with carabiner clip to attach to belts or bags, etc.
Colours
Clear* acorn - green light
Purple* acorn - white light
Orange acorn - warm white light
Green acorn - white light
Purple* these acorns are made with a blue and purple fade filament and has a slight glint to it from fine glitter in the filament. My idea behind this was to give the effects of the night sky in an acorn light.
Clear* these acorns are made with a transparent clear filament but they do look white without the light. The light shines through well and I picked a green light for this to represent fireflies in a jar.
